Fishing sand flats with Eel grass and Hydrilla, so can't even blame it on knocking it off rocks. Can't even re-glue them in even if I wanted to as a portion of the nose even came with it. Both the new Rootbeer Crawdads and one Citrus Shad had the whole bill come out of the bodies. I DO NOT slap my lures when there is grass on them. But I just had 3 DT4's in a row have the bill completely pull out of the head of the baits. The Paint schemes are great, just really great.

The only modification I make is replace the original hooks with triple grip hooks.Ĭomments: Just purchased a bunch of the new colour DT4's and well I am not impressed with the quality of them. Castability in windy conditions is also a plus. I keep a rod and reel on the deck with one of these crankbaits on at all time. They will break at the bill, and are not fixable.Ĭomments: The Rapala Dt 10 bluegill, and pumpkinseed definetly catch fish. The bills break way to often and if not checked you'll lose perhaps your personal best.Ĭomments: Pro: They catch fish! Con: They break way too easily. Consider changing your bill design and this will out sale most of your competition. I'll put up with any problem of them braking do to they just catch fish.Ĭomments: Great colors and action, but horrible bill design. If you store them in your boat or garage they will bloat and crack. You need to take note of not leaving then any place to hot. Just be careful with this bait and you should be fine.Ĭomments: DT-6 is a go to all year round. All I had left was the clear plastic lip. Well, my bait broke in half, one side was sinking and the other was floating. I had some weeds on my DT-6 so I hit it on the water like I normally do with my baits to get the weeds off. However, due to its balsa wood construction, it is very weak. Mono line.Ĭomments: The Rapala DT-6 is a good crankbait that has really good action and floats to the top really fast. One of my go to lures and they flat out catch fish. During the summer months when the water is low, it's hard to beat the 4' and 6' DT cranks. There's also the possibility Rapala may have had a bad batch.Ĭomments: Great crankbaits for smallies on the Susquehanna river. I don't know if a lot of the commenters stored theirs in hot conditions because that can cause them to swell and become brittle. I smack them on the water to clear weeds off them as well, butI have never had the bill break off on me.

LIVE PUMPKIN SEED DT4 SERIES
I like that the color was brought back with the OTT Slim06.Ĭomments: I have used Rapala DT series a lot. I wish Rapala brings the crawdad color back to the DT line up not only for DT20. The most successful for me is hot mustard. Try to experiment what colors work better in the places you usually fish. DT6,10,14 is usually what I have on deck. I'll also reiterate what others have said, do not slap your bait on the water to clear the hooks!!Ĭomments: Unsure about them, these baits get water logged after time and sink for the price it should happenĬomments: This is the bait I throw the most, simply becasue it works. But, I have broken many brands of crankbaits this way. I have had DT6's break banging them in the rocks. I have never had a bill break on this bait. I've been fishing crankbaits for 50 years. If you are looking for some good crankbaits, these are it.Ĭomments: The DT16 in Penguin is the best big bass crankbait I have ever owned. But I can always get bit on one of these and the more subtle thump I think helps with that. They don't thump quite as hard as like the XD series from strike king. The hooks that come on the baits are ok, I just like triple grips better. I do replace the hooks with triple grips. I don't slap my bait against the water to get the weeds off. I have not had any durability issues with these crankbaits. My favorites have got to be big shad and Ike's Penguin. I mean the DT20 is 7/8 oz which is awesome. I love that these crankbaits aren't crazy heavy like a lot of other deep cranks, yet these still cast a mile. And every single one of them catches fish. I use the Shiman Sellus/Med spinning and 10 CX premium on rivers its an incredible bait.Ĭomments: These are my go to crankbaits. The fish you catch on this in the rivers is SICK SICK SICK. Comments: I made my mistake of showing introducing my best friend to crankbaits a couple years ago.now he out-fishes me CONSTANTLY with the DT4/Red Craw color.
